Joyeux anniversaire to moi

I’m 21, finally! What a relief. Although it doesn’t make any difference at home. I still have the 5pm curfew, the round-neck rule, no driving, no partying, no clubbing and no drinking. But since I'm an adult now guess those rules doesn't apply to me anymore, does it?I'm freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeheeeeheee! My trademark laugh. hee hee. Can't never leave that out on Liberty Day!

This year’s birthday is exceptionally special. I had an early celebration with Puddy the boyfriend, Jean the evil sis and Chris the generous swim instructor. Too bad many couldn’t make it. Otherwise it would have been better. Still, it was a lot of fun! Thanks to all who made it happen. And also to those who remember, the wishes and presents. I appreciate it and am happy to hear from all of u. But one thing that I don’t quite understand is WHY DOES EVERYONE CALLS ME FATTY BOM BOM?!? My oh my. Something must be really wrong here.

Anyway, we went to Quattro on Friday night which was quite an awesome place. It has a similar concept with The Loft. Only muchhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh bigger and more spacious. And lots of variety too – restaurant, club, lounge and bar. All in one place. Very convenient for a birthday party I would say.
Now as usual, pics! Can never live without one ;)

The birthday girl! *round applause*

I deserve more than just a kiss! But that will do, for the meantime (:

Making a wish.

4 inches thick. Thank you for the delicious cake Chris (=

Chocolate craze? hmm.

The Winter Bar. Just above the Autumn Club.

Took us quite awhile to persuade the boys to go in. ;P

We’re doing the slow mo walk.

The freezing Pudface

How come I don’t feel as cold? Hahahahaha.

Human Freezer! I’m in. R u?

Unintentional leg lift.

Quick! My shoulders are going numb.

The amazing people.

The intentional leg lift! Hehe.

Went down to Autumn Club.

Really packed and warm.

Then back to Winter Bar. We stole ice from the trees!

He wufs me. (:

I wuf u too! *ammm!* My version. Hee hee.

Thanks again everyone. I had a blast. Luv u all! :D

cooking class!

I’ve always missed drinking home cook soup when I was away. Why? Because it keeps me full, provides me with all the nutrients that I need and gives me good complexion! :>

My all-time favourite has always been the lotus peanut ribs soup. And today I’ve finally accomplished something that I've been procrastinating for years! To learn how to make good soup. I think it's probably one of the easiest type of food to prepare. No fuss, no frills. Just a lot of throwing in to do. Hee hee.

Alright. SO the main ingredient here is, just like its name, LOTUS. You need only 2 of it. All brown and ugly. You can strip them naked and give them a nice scrub.

Cut off the top and the bottom of the lotuses because it’s normally full of sand. For those who do not know, lotuses are found in ponds. They float around like abnormal jelly fish. Their head is on the surface of the water but their bottom (which is this part) is inside. It’s amazing how they can actually survive like this.

After cutting off those parts, give your babies a good wash again. Inside out this time. You don't want to have cracked teeth from biting the sands. hehe..

When done, give yourself a big smile! Cuz we’re already half way through. :D

Slice the lotuses according to your preference. Cut it round, square or triangle. Anything will do. Then get ready to throw everything into the pot. It would be better if you use a pressure cooker. But since mum wants it fast, she suggests we use the hot plate.

Hey little babies, we r all going for a dip! hee hee.

So here we go. Firstly, the sliced lotuses. *blup!*

Next, the ribs. *bluup bluup bluup*

Red dates – without the seed. *plet plet*

Seasoned cutter fish *glup*

And most importantlyyyyyy... peanuts! *pssssss* Boil them and remove the outer layer first before throwing them in.

Leave the soup to boil for about 3 hours, check the temperature from time to time. And wahlah! Lotus peanut rib soup! Mmmmmm! I wan minum! (n_n)

It’s fairly easy to make this I tell you. It took me less than an hour to get this done. Oh,, and I cooked mixed vegetables too. Again, there was a lot of throwing in to do but it was a lot more scarier. The sound that the wok made was quite frightening but hell it was another piece of cake. hehe.

All you need to do is to prepare your celery, carrot and smoked garlic.

Throw your celery in first cuz it takes a longer time to cook.

Followed by your cute lil carrots. . .

And then your garlic!

Mix mix mix.

Pop in the sliced meat – marinated with a pinch of salt, sugar, corn starch and soy sauce. The starch is to make thick gravy. So the more you put in, the thicker your gravy will be. And the more water it’ll absorb. So add in some water from time to time. According to your liking of course. So much of habuk,, *cough cough*

And TADAArrrr! Looks nice right? So proud of myself. Hee hee. Thanks mum!

Oh, and I just got to know that Xandria Ooi’s mum is Agnes Chang the cook! She hosts a cooking show every morning. Wonder how does Xandria stay that slim with a cook mum. And where did that weird English accent come from??

Hmm.. I feel so accomplished today!

Di dadada da dida dididi da la la~ ~

Reboot? Restore? Huh??

This is worse than not knowing how to answer my finance questions in exams! Argghhhh!!! I feel so helpless when it comes to gadgets. It’s something that I can never understand. What’s more to be good at. hmm?

Well this time I learned something : Never go to bed before my computer does. I don’t quite remember what happened but as far as I can recall I was surfing the net till 2 something in the morning. Tired, I went offline and click shut down in the Windows options. Then there was some updating to do which took ages to load. 15 mins and only 30% completed? I was too lazy to wait so I left my computer to load by itself and dived straight into bed. Mum will usually turn off the main switch the next morning so the charger wouldn’t be running too long, I guess. The next day when I turned on my laptop, it says WINDOWS ERROR. 2 options :

A) Repair windows something something (recommended)

B) Start windows normally

And I’ve got only 30 seconds to make a choice. So I quickly punched in B hoping that nothing’s wrong with it. But a few seconds later the same page appeared and told me to make a choice again. I punched in B again and the same thing happened. Then I tried A. Went to setup and boot. Don’t know what to do. I was so vain. Restart the computer a few times. Replaced charger with battery. Called Dell service centre. Mum. Puddy. Computer expert friends. Then...tadaa! An old friend of mine instructed me to do this and that and in about 20 mins, my laptop was back to normal!!!! I was so happpppy! Thankiu Clem! Sob sob. Can i take computer lessons from u? =::..)

I didn’t noe one irritating-looking compact disc can do so much. I remember having my friend coming over to my house to fix my lapuk-ed PC once and that’s when I’ve to dig through piles of dead CDs in the cabinet. I’m never really good at keeping them. Hee hee. But I’ve learned my lesson now.

And oh, guess what was the cause of the retarded startup? One of my downloading process - probably the Windows update - had gone corrupted. It somehow affects the operating system hence, banning me from entering into Windows. And to avoid more retarded start-ups in the future, it is recommended or unnecessary for home users to download any Windows update. Because Vista is good enough to stand on its own! *wink*

p/s : I’ve changed my blog viewing settings so kindly fill in your email before logging in. Or maybe you could send me your email and I'll send the invites out. Either way will do!

Reason : Some unknown nuisance is making stupid comments on my blog. (Read RODENTS!) He actually threatened to bring me to court for boiling a rat. He suggest drowning it instead. Big difference, you say?

Quantum of Solace?

I never really understood what the title means but heck, it was a good movie. So much of time and effort put in. Totally worth the wait! It was so good that even after the movie I thought the story was real. I must say it was slightly better that those days when Pierce Brosnan played secret agent 007. Old fart he! : P

Exams are finally over! I’m not too happy nor too sad. Happy because I get to send the whole chunk of my brain for defragment and then keep it in the box for awhile. Sad because I gotta figure out on how to waste the few weeks of my life at home. Sighh..

WHAT AM I GONNA DO. WHAT AM I GONNAAAA DO~

The first thing that came to mind is to redeem all those outings and eating sessions I’ve missed. And guess which place is the best place to go? PAVILION! Hee hee.

What makes a good or bad tutor

To be honest, I don’t know. But having been to a number of lectures now, I guess I could probably sort some good and bad ones out. Now I know why some private institutions charge really high tuition fees. Because they’ve got good tutors! It makes a hell lot of difference ok. That’s probably why the local graduates are so much weaker than the private ones. Well, low price low quality. If we shop in Giant Hypermarket, hypermarket stuff is what we’re getting. If we shop in Marks & Spencer, we get 10 times the quality. Bla bla bla. As always.

In 3 days time is my Corporate Tax paper and that marks the end of my 1st semester. I missed my Tax 1 lecturer so dearly. She’s probably the best I’ve ever had. Compared to the current one who couldn’t care less about our exams at all. Shheesh. All she knows is that she’s getting married and we students can all die in hell without our horns. How inappropriate! Hope she doesn’t give birth to any Down Syndrome kids. :P Talking about my (so far) one and only beloved lecturer, she was a graduate of UKM but is now committed to UPM. How sad. UPM probably has better incentives for her. UPM RAWKS!

Anyhow, this lady I’m talking about is Puan Salmah. Wished I could post a pic of her or start up a fan club but too bad I don’t have any. She was with us for only 6 weeks. I’ll give u a lookalike though.

Datuk Shahrizat!

Only with smaller hair, a bit slimmer and mm.. narrow jawline. Very motherly right? And she knows a whole damn lot of things man. Salute u Maam!

Anyway..would like to wish my current lecturer Cik ***** Selamat Pengantin Baru. Moga2 suami u x kahwin lagi & harap2 u dapatlah bebanyak ribu juta anak. Hati2 bila berbulan madu. Jgan nanti kena bomb by terrorist. Selamat Jalan!

Detox

Looks like I’m not only addicted to caffeine. Now I can’t live without my vitamins! One day without pills is like a terrible hangover. I can barely do anything cept to lie around like a rotten banana. Yellow. And. Pathetic. Why does my last paper have to be so far away! If only it was yesterday. Then I would already be throwing myself a pre-birddy-day party. Sigh.

I cook lunch today. And guess what’s on da meeeeenu~

Selfishness kills

What thought to be an aid turned out to be a whole pile of peacock dung. When someone promises to lend a hand in needy times but chicken out at the last minute is nothing but a self-centred narcissist. I thought it was a pact. You scratch my back I scratch yours. So what’s the problem? Nobody really understands her. She does all that she wants as long as she’s pleased with it. Do these people still exist? Yes, I would say. In fact, almost everywhere you go you feel them. Never will they ever reveal themselves. Only in desperate times when you seek help that’s when you see their true colours. Beware, behold. Be it the one you hate or care. When you need them they're cold.

Here's something for the big headed moron.

Mission for the coming break : To learn more Chinese. So you'll be seeing a lot of this for the holiday posts.

*signing off~

am loco moco!

I am homesick! I came out of the exam hall half an hour earlier because I wanna go homeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee``! I'm so glad to be back. *sobz* I was almost in tears when I got into my room. hee hee. I'm mad. Or maybe it was just tears of joy after completing 3 out of 6 papers : )

Law totally sucks. I couldn't believe that I actually got the chapters mixed up. Bodoh! All my hard work went straight to the rubbish bin. I know my sections! I know my case! But I screw it. Probably because I forgot my glasses. *groans* or maybe the lights in the exam hall weren't bright enough. Or maybe it was the fatty in front of me who block all my chi! Yea, yea. Start blaming.

Obama is officially the president of United States. Hmmmm... quite a bolt in the blue. Can't wait to see the White House blow up. wohoo!
